Beth's Hometown Barbershop in Weymouth, Massachusetts might very well be the BEST barbershop for your kids. I was recently invited to bring my son's to get their hair cut at Beth's Hometown Barbershop.
Beth, the owner, was born and raised in Weymouth. She went to Weymouth High School and took the cosmetology course there. Five years ago she opened the shop, right on Washington Street in East Weymouth! Beth's son is one of the barbers there with her, along with two others.
Beth's kids were born and raised in Weymouth as well, attended Weymouth schools, played Weymouth sports-including winning the Rugby championship-and graduated from Weymouth High. Beth's barber shop is a nod to all things Weymouth! She has a GIANT ''W'' on her wall in Weymouth font and colors, Weymouth sports t-shirts framed and hung on the walls, and she supports local Weymouth sports by allowing them to advertise their fundraisers in her place of business.
She is very kind and talented. One of the most important things to Beth was making a barbershop that was ''kid friendly'', so if you had to bring the kids along with you it wouldn't be terrible! Beth has a plethora of children's toys and games in her shop, and her sweet granddaughter had no problem showing my boys around! My youngest son played with legos while Beth cut my oldest sons hair, and when it was time for my youngest to climb up into the chair he wasn't agitated from waiting, he was content!
Technically, it was my youngest son's first haircut-other than having his hair chopped and butchered by Mom (sorry, kiddo!) and he received a special certificate with a lock of his hair!
Beth knew how to manage both of my little guys, despite their wiggly shoulders! She was very patient with them. With competitive rates for hair cuts, a clean shop, filled with things for the kids to do while they wait-it's no wonder this has quickly become this momma's favorite place to bring the boys for their cuts!
