On Saturday, December 7, 2019, The 4th Annual Coop’s Troop Foundation Holiday Toy Drive will be held at Cooper’s Family Home on 265 Thicket Street in Weymouth.  It will start at Noon and go until 4:00p.m. All toys donated on this day will be distributed to Boston Children’s Hospital and My Brother’s Keeper for children in need this holiday season. Last year the Foundation donated over 2,200 toys in memory of Cooper at the Coop’s Troop Holiday Toy Drive. This included adopting 100 children and their specific Christmas wishes.  Although the ways we helped these children may seem small to the average person, we know that they are not!  We are accepting new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls- infant through teens.

Santa will be there for photo opportunities.  We will be serving Christmas cookies and desserts, hot chocolate and coffee.  We hope you can join us for a beautiful day of giving for children in need.

Coop’s Troop Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in memory of Cooper Matthew Richards, a courageous young boy from Weymouth who battled a very rare genetic disorder called GM-1 gangliosidosis.  After Cooper’s passing on January 19th 2017, the Richards family started the mantra of “Doing Cooper Work,” which is the commitment of doing small things that make a big impact in the lives of other courageous children and their families.  Coop’s Troop Foundation needs support from generous people and businesses to ensure that we fulfill our mission to provide a better quality of life to any child with a life-limiting disease and/or special needs.
