I know I am not alone in feeling like I am pulled in ten different directions every day! Parents everywhere are being told to work like they don’t have kids and parent like they don’t work. It’s an impossible task and the holiday season only compounds the chaos. Today I woke up half an hour early to drag my kids out of bed after a late night making holiday memories because it was crazy hair day at the elementary school.
After all of the regular school day prep, I somehow managed to pull off two crazy hairdos and wrangled my preschooler into “fancy” clothes and a bow tie for his school’s concert. Then I dropped off all three kids to school, squeezed in a shower, some work, delivered Girl Scout cookies, and raced over to preschool for my son’s holiday concert. Concert done I had just enough time to run to the store for shoes and tights for the next concert of the day, back home to pick kids up from school and throw dinner in the pressure cooker so we could squeeze in a quick 4:30 dinner before the elementary school concert at 6!
Amidst the busyness of our Monday, I need to get the oil changed in my husband’s car. Maybe I will tell my husband that I’m in charge of car maintenance now but will keep how easy they make it a secret!
