Playground Review: Legion Memorial Field Playground ~ Weymouth

By Jenn Catto, Publisher Mom, Macaroni Kid Weymouth May 20, 2016

My youngest MacKid and I will be traveling the area checking out all the local playgrounds, ice cream shops and breakfast places. Our first stop…

The New Playground at Legion Field, Weymouth!

I have to say this was our first time going there so I will say I expected more but it was definitely a cute, small, cozy playground. There are a bunch of swings and 2 slide structures. One slide structure is for small, younger kids and close to the ground while the other structure has climbing features along with a twisty slide. The do have a climbing structure also that the kids can climb and walk along the walls.

There are also picnic tables to sit and have a snack or lunch along with bathrooms right outside the fenced in area. The bathrooms are clean and kept up well. The “padded” floor is nice for when they fall. The whole area is clean and spacious. The track outside the fenced in area is also nice to walk if you enjoy that. There is also soccer fields in the middle of the track in case the kids want to kick the ball around.

My one complaint is that there is no shade anywhere on the playground area. During a sunny afternoon the slides and structures definitely get hot in the sunshine. Please make sure you put your sunscreen on and wear your hats! This is the perfect little playground to bring the kids to if your looking to have a picnic lunch and a bit of fun!

Legion Memorial Field Playground is located at the corner of Middle and Commercial St in Weymouth... There is a parking lot right outside the playground.
